| WHAT IS THIS AWESOMENESS? This community started as a FANDOM_STOCKING gift to LUXKEN27 from OZQUEEN. Remember The Baby-Sitters Club by Ann M. Martin? Well, if you still read the books and find yourself with a smile on your face, this is the place for you. This is the community to share quotes and passages that leave you with a feeling of joy and squee. |
| WHAT DO I DO? Whenever you find a great BSC moment: canon proof that your OTP is awesome-sauce, classic quotes, cute sitter/client moments, adorable family fun - simply type the quote/passage into an entry here and click post. Let us know which book it's from - you can use the entry subject field for that if you want. Just keep in mind that any really long passages should go under an LJ CUT. There's no solid rule on this - just use your best judgement on what makes a "long" entry. If someone asks you to put something under a cut, it's probably a good idea to do so. |
| HOW DO I TAG? You can take a look at the TAGS ALREADY IN USE and add them as you please, or make up your own. Take note that we use character tags, and that there are category tags - eg: - regular series or - california diaries. But if you're not sure, just leave it blank. Someone else will fill it in for you. :) |
| SOME OF THE POSTS SHOW THE QUOTE INDENTED - HOW DO I DO THIS? If you want to make it obvious (if it isn't already) what your commentary and squee is and what the actual quote is, feel free to wrap your quote in blockquote tags. Just like using an italics tag or a bold tag, blockquote tags are created with the < and > signs and are closed with a / symbol. You need to do this in HTML mode, not in rich text. If you're still not sure, here's a text box with the HTML in it - just copy and paste, and adjust as needed. |

| CAN I INCLUDE QUOTES FROM OTHER ANN M. MARTIN BOOKS? This community is just for BSC squee. You can include the spin-off series California Diaries and Baby-sitters Little Sister, but for other Ann M. Martin books, you're probably better off looking elsewhere. |
| CAN I POST NEWS ARTICLES AND REVIEWS? Things like that are probably better suited to the BABYSITTERSCLUB community. :) |
| CAN I POST QUOTES OR PASSAGES FROM FANFICTION? If you're looking to read or write fanfiction, take a look at BABYSITTERS100 or BSC_FICTION. As for posting quotes from fanfiction, we might revisit that idea/question when the community is properly 'live', and see what everyone thinks. |
| CAN I SNARK? There's a community specifically for snarking the BSC books: BSC_SNARK. This community is more for the "naww!" moments, or the passages that prove beyond a doubt why Dee Pike is an awesome mother or why Mary Anne Spier is such an awesome best friend. If you're not sure, just keep an eye on the community for a while - you'll soon figure it out! And, if you're still not sure, or if you have any other questions, just ask by replying to this entry, and someone will help you out ASAP! |
